The Benjamin School boys golf team proudly commemorated their recent achievement of winning the Class 1A state championship with a special ring ceremony held on February 24 at their Palm Beach Gardens campus. The celebration was made even more noteworthy with the attendance of legendary golfer Tiger Woods and his ex-wife Elin Nordegren, who came to support their son, Charlie Woods.

Charlie, a junior and the standout player on the team, played a vital role in securing the championship, logging the best final round score to lead the Bucs to victory. This is now the second state title for both Charlie and senior teammate Andrew Tsar during their high school golfing careers. Their previous triumph came in 2023 when they were freshmen, and they also helped the Bucs achieve a state runner-up finish in 2024.

As they celebrated the championship, Charlie Woods spotlighted his commitment to Florida State University, announcing it just prior to the ceremony. The roster of the Bucs is packed with talent destined for collegiate golf; in addition to Woods and Tsar, the team features Brooks Colton, who will be attending Southern Methodist University, alongside freshman standout Clint Lewis and senior Maurice Hoben.

This celebration not only highlights the individual achievements of its members but also the strength and unity of the team as they continue to build on their success. The ringing of the championship jewelry could well symbolize new beginnings and ambitions that await the players in their futures as they aim for further accomplishments both in high school and beyond.
