The first incident involved a 65-year-old woman from Korociriciri Road in Nausori, who was tragically hit by a vehicle while sitting by the roadside, waiting for a bus early yesterday morning. Emergency services rushed her to the Nausori Health Centre, but she was sadly pronounced dead upon arrival. The driver responsible for the incident is currently in police custody as investigations proceed.

In a separate incident, a man died after losing control of his vehicle along the Queens Road at around 2:30 PM, specifically on the Yarawa stretch near the slope towards Talanua in Serua. Preliminary reports suggest the driver may have been under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash.

Additionally, a 34-year-old man succumbed to injuries received from a road accident that occurred on Boxing Day. He was traveling on Waicoka Road towards Nausori when the vehicle he was in failed to make a bend, resulting in it veering off the road and landing in a muddy area. The driver, who fled the scene, is being sought in connection with the incident. The victim received treatment at Nausori Health Centre before being transferred to the Colonial War Memorial Hospital, where he unfortunately passed away.

Police investigations into all three accidents are ongoing, as authorities work to gather more details surrounding these unfortunate events. The incidents highlight the ongoing concerns about road safety, emphasizing the need for awareness and caution while driving.
