Three individuals have been apprehended for suspected unlawful possession of illicit drugs, believed to be methamphetamine, in separate incidents across Suva. The arrests occurred on Thursday and Friday, with locations including Votualevu, Grantham Road in Raiwaqa, and Belo Street in Samabula.
The first suspect, a 30-year-old man from Nanuku Settlement, was arrested on New Year’s Day along Grantham Road. Authorities allegedly found multiple zip lock bags containing a white substance, thought to be methamphetamine, along with smoking paraphernalia, dried leaves resembling marijuana, and cash which is suspected to be derived from criminal activities.
In the second incident, a 25-year-old man in Votualevu was also detained after police reportedly discovered clear plastic bags with a white substance believed to be methamphetamine.
The third arrest involved a 37-year-old man from Makoi, Nasinu, who was caught on Friday with a zip lock bag containing a similar substance.
All three men remain in custody as authorities await analysis results of the seized substances.
