This Is Boxing: Fiji Promoter Launches Charity Partnership for Children Battling Cancer

As Naroon Buksh, the promoter behind Kings Boxing Promotion, tirelessly promotes the sport of boxing in Fiji, he has also made it a priority to support the local community. His commitment was highlighted during the recent signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with WOWS Kids Fiji and a major sponsor, focusing on providing assistance to children battling cancer.

“This is a good way we can give back to our community and just give and provide help whenever we can. And through these boxing events, we have been able to do that,” Buksh stated, underlining his dedication to using boxing as a platform for charity. This newfound partnership aims to raise awareness and provide essential support to families affected by childhood cancer.

The upcoming boxing event, titled “This Is Boxing,” is scheduled to take place at the Vodafone Arena in Suva next weekend. It will showcase both local and emerging boxing talent, facilitating a strong connection between the sport and community initiatives. The boxing events organized by Buksh not only entertain fans but also help in mobilizing resources for important causes, similar to past events that have seen substantial contributions towards charitable organizations.

Mere Williams, the Manager Operations for WOWS Kids Fiji, expressed her gratitude, emphasizing that this collaboration opens new pathways to raise awareness about childhood cancer. The upcoming boxing matches promise to be not just a display of athletic skill, but also a demonstration of compassion and community spirit, further reinforcing the age-old adage that sports can bring people together for a noble cause.

With greater community engagement expected during the event and a shared goal of supporting vulnerable children, there is a sense of optimism surrounding this initiative. The boxing promotions led by Buksh symbolize a movement towards enhancing the culture of charity in sports, encouraging broader involvement from the local population in uplifting those in need. This partnership is set to not only elevate boxing in Fiji but also strengthen the community’s fabric, fostering hope and resilience among families facing difficult challenges.
