Eugene (Gene) Udvare, aged 69, passed away peacefully on December 19, 2025. Born on December 31, 1955, in Detroit to Joseph and Wanda Udvare, both of whom have passed away, Gene grew up in the area and graduated from Shrine High School. He later attended Oakland Community College before relocating to Phoenix, Arizona, in 1978.

In Phoenix, Gene thrived in the sales sector, showcasing his talents in the automotive, office equipment, and insurance industries. However, his most significant contribution came in 2008 when he founded the Miracle League of Arizona. This organization is dedicated to providing a specialized stadium and programs for children and young adults with special needs, giving them the opportunity to play baseball and experience the joy of sports in an inclusive environment.

Gene is remembered not only for his professional achievements but also for his dedication to helping others through the Miracle League. He is survived by his brothers, Joe and Frank, and he was preceded in death by his sister, Ann Zajdel, nee Udvare.

A memorial reception is planned for the new year, with details to be announced. Gene’s legacy will continue to impact the lives of special needs children and young adults through the meaningful work of the Miracle League of Arizona. His memory will be cherished by family, friends, and the communities he served.
