Author Karen Kingsbury has teamed up with the Gary Sinise Foundation to deliver a compelling message on the importance of supporting veterans ahead of the film adaptation of her latest book, The Christmas Ring. This heartwarming story, set to hit select theaters starting November 6, explores the love life of a military widow in Columbus, Georgia, and features performances by real-life veteran actors.

Kingsbury shared her enthusiasm for partnering with the foundation, stating, “We partnered with the Gary Sinise Foundation because their team spends their lives giving back to those who gave it all for us.” She highlighted the privilege of providing advertising space to the foundation, hoping that this collaboration will expose even more individuals to their life-changing work. The foundation is renowned for building custom, mortgage-free homes for severely wounded veterans and providing entertainment for service members across the globe.

Alongside the film’s significant message, The Christmas Ring showcases a cast that includes 100 background actors who are active or retired military personnel. Among them is James Daniels, a remarkable 101-year-old World War II veteran who drew crowds eager to meet him.

With an aim to deepen understanding of the sacrifices made by military personnel, the film stars Jana Kramer, Benjamin Hollingsworth, and Kelsey Grammer, and is a continuation of Kingsbury’s successful adaptations of her novels, which include Like Dandelion Dust, The Bridge, A Time to Dance, and Someone Like You.

Kingsbury expressed a desire for viewers to leave the film with an increased awareness of the need to actively support veterans, stating, “I hope readers and moviegoers will walk away more aware of the true need to roll up our sleeves and come together to help our veterans find hope and healing.” In response, Gary Sinise himself expressed gratitude for Kingsbury’s support of the foundation and its mission.

The Christmas Ring, available now in bookstores, resonates with themes of compassion and community, highlighting the importance of coming together to honor those who have served. This collaboration serves as a hopeful reminder of the generosity and dedication required to uplift the lives of veterans.
