Ashton Kutcher and Anthony Ramos have shared insights into their latest project, “The Beauty,” a new series set to premiere on January 21 on FX, Hulu, and Hulu on Disney+. In a recent interview with “Good Morning America,” Kutcher detailed how the show is influenced by the growing trend surrounding weight loss medications, particularly GLP-1 agonists.

Kutcher noted that the show’s creator, Ryan Murphy, was inspired by the societal obsession with beauty and the drastic measures some people are willing to take to attain it. He recounted a conversation with Murphy, where the producer posed the provocative question of what individuals would sacrifice to become the most beautiful version of themselves.

In “The Beauty,” Kutcher portrays the villain—a character who has developed an unregulated weight loss drug and is being hunted by federal authorities. He described the narrative as “dicey” and reflective of real-world issues that resonate deeply with contemporary audiences.

Ramos, who plays Kutcher’s accomplice in this gripping sci-fi body horror series, expressed his admiration for Kutcher’s performance, calling it one of the best he has witnessed on television. He shared that upon viewing the show, he felt compelled to compliment Kutcher, acknowledging his standout role.

Kutcher’s transition back into acting came as he was managing multiple ventures, including a venture capital firm and parenting young children. He indicated that receiving a call from Murphy was significant enough to pull him back into the spotlight, emphasizing the thrill of collaborating with such a renowned producer.

“The Beauty” boasts an impressive cast, featuring Evan Peters, Bella Hadid, Rebecca Hall, and Jeremy Pope, among others. The show presents a dark twist on the high fashion industry, where international supermodels face perilous and mysterious fates, underscoring the extremes of beauty culture.

With its intriguing premise and strong cast, “The Beauty” is set to captivate audiences, examining the lengths individuals will go to in pursuit of an idealized self-image.
