Kurtwood Smith recently announced the cancellation of “That ’90s Show” by Netflix after just two seasons, prompting reactions from his co-stars in the comments section.

Mace Coronel, who portrayed Jay Kelso, shared his appreciation, stating, “Such an honor to meet and work with you.” Smith responded, complimenting Coronel’s talent and expressing that it was a pleasure to work with him daily.

Callie Haverda, who played Leia Forman, also expressed gratitude towards Smith, who played her grandfather, Red Forman. She referred to him as “the best TV grandpa I could’ve asked for.” Smith reciprocated the sentiment, praising Haverda for her talent and growth as an actor.

Andrea Anders, who had a recurring role as the Formans’ neighbor, added, “Such an honor to work with you,” to which Smith replied, acknowledging the honor as his own.

In an Instagram update regarding the show’s future, Smith addressed fans who were hoping for a third season. He delivered the unfortunate news that Netflix would not be renewing the series. Despite the cancellation, Smith expressed his enjoyment in portraying Grandpa Red and conveyed gratitude to everyone involved. He concluded with an optimistic note, suggesting the possibility of shopping the show to other platforms, stating, “good grandparents would try hard to get these kids graduated from high school.”
