Thanksgiving NFL Injuries Loom as Star Players Questionable for Turkey Day

This year’s Thanksgiving Day slate of NFL games promises an exciting lineup featuring both playoff contenders and teams looking to improve as they face off in three matches. As the holiday approaches, fans can look forward to a thrilling day of football filled with star players, though injuries are a significant concern for many teams.

With just four days between games, the injury report is extensive for the six teams participating. Key players are currently navigating various health issues, impacting their availability for the Thanksgiving matchups.

On Tuesday, injuries were notable among several players. Karl Brooks, Lukas Van Ness, and Savion Williams were again listed as did not practice (DNP) participants. Others, including Javon Bullard, Edgerrin Cooper, Matthew Golden, Nate Hobbs, Josh Jacobs, Jayden Reed, Zach Tom, Quay Walker, and Dontayvion Wicks, were limited in their practice sessions for the second consecutive day. However, a positive sign came with Keisean Nixon participating in a limited session, indicating a possible return.

For the Detroit Lions, Graham Glasgow, Kerby Joseph, Kalif Raymond, and Brock Wright were DNP for the second day in a row, suggesting their unlikely participation in the holiday game. Lions head coach Dan Campbell hinted that Joseph would sit out. On a brighter note, Brian Branch upgraded to a full practice, and there’s optimism surrounding Marcus Davenport’s potential return on Thursday.

The Kansas City Chiefs prepare for the return of running back Isiah Pacheco, who has been a full participant after missing the last three games due to a knee issue. However, tight end Noah Gray is dealing with a concussion and did not practice, nor did offensive lineman Trey Smith, who is coping with an ankle injury. On a more positive note, Rashee Rice, Xavier Worthy, and Leo Chenal were cleared for full practices on Tuesday.

In Pittsburgh, George Pickens was back to a limited practice on Tuesday after missing Monday due to knee and calf issues. KaVontae Turpin and Osa Odighizuwa also returned to limited status after not practicing the previous session, while left tackle Tyler Guyton was spotted in a walking boot after being DNP on both days.

Cincinnati Bengals fans can expect a highly anticipated return from quarterback Joe Burrow, who has been sidelined since Week 3 following toe surgery. Despite his return, wide receiver Tee Higgins has been ruled out due to a concussion, and defensive end Trey Hendrickson will miss his fifth straight game.

Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson returned to practice on Tuesday after missing the first practice of the week, which has been a consistent routine for him lately. Alongside Jackson, safety Kyle Hamilton and wide receiver Rashod Bateman also made limited returns, although Justice Hill didn’t practice.

As these teams finalize their preparations, fans are hopeful for an action-packed Thanksgiving filled with competitive spirit and exciting performances on the gridiron.
