The 49th edition of the North Miami Thanksgiving Day Parade once again brightened the streets along Northeast 125th Street. This year’s event featured an array of bands, dance groups, and festive floats.
The parade route extended from Sixth Avenue to Tenth Avenue, with City Council member and Grand Marshal Scott Galvin leading the festivities.
This cherished event brought joy to families, fostered community spirit, and provided spectacular entertainment. Bands from North Miami and North Miami Beach participated in this year’s celebration on Thursday. The parade included a lively procession of floats featuring Santa Claus, Mrs. Claus, Miami Heat dancers, and decorated police vehicles, along with various community groups marching proudly.
Hundreds of families from across South Florida gathered to enjoy this memorable occasion. Many shared their enthusiasm for the event. “It’s my first time attending such an event, and it’s great because I came with my wife and daughter… the community spirit and each float were excellent,” said Hector Manrique. Paola González added, “For my family, it’s something lovely because we often forget to give thanks to God and to be able to share this important day together is special.”
Fortunately, the streets were cleared and cleaned by the city’s work teams after the parade, and there were no reported incidents. Overall, it was a beautiful way to celebrate Thanksgiving.
This event showcases the power of community togetherness and highlights how local traditions can bring people together in a joyous celebration. It also emphasizes the importance of gratitude and family, especially during the holiday season.
