Severe storms swept through North Texas on Sunday night, prompting multiple tornado warnings across the region. While those warnings have since expired, residents continue to face severe weather threats, including hail, heavy rains, and flash flooding.

As of now, a Severe Thunderstorm Warning is in effect for Collin County until 11:15 p.m., and Denton County is under a Flash Flood Warning until 12:30 a.m. Additionally, a Tornado Watch remains active for both Denton and Collin Counties until 11:00 p.m.

Sightings of severe weather conditions have been reported, with viewers sharing dramatic photos from areas such as Ranger and Santo—towns located 80 and 50 miles west of Fort Worth, respectively. Reports include baseball-sized hail and footage of funnel clouds in Santo.

Looking ahead, Monday’s forecast indicates the potential for a complex of storms in the morning which may impact the likelihood of further storms developing later in the day. Residents are warned that all forms of severe weather remain possible, with a slight increase in risk compared to the previous days. As the storms are expected to move rapidly to the north and east, staying informed through weather alerts is crucial.

A cold front is projected to move in late Monday, bringing some relief in the form of drier air mid-week, which could ease the severe weather situation.

Residents are advised to remain vigilant over the coming days as the weather unfolds. It is critical to have a reliable source for weather updates and to heed any warnings issued by local authorities.
