AUSTIN, Texas – The No. 14 Texas Volleyball team celebrated significant achievements as Madisen Skinner and Marianna Singletary were both named to the All-SEC First Team. This recognition highlights their exceptional performances during the season, contributing to a total of four Longhorns receiving honors from the All-SEC teams, as the league office announced on Sunday.
Alongside Skinner and Singletary, Reagan Rutherford earned a spot on the All-SEC Second Team, and freshman Ayden Ames was recognized on the All-Freshman Team.
Skinner has been a standout, averaging 4.14 kills per set and hitting .274 over the season. In her final five matches, her performance surged, boasting an impressive 5.94 kills per set and a .439 hitting percentage. Singletary has also made a significant impact on defense, leading the SEC with 1.47 blocks per set and earning the title of Defensive Player of the Week for three consecutive weeks. She has recorded 128 total blocks and 162 kills at a remarkable .356 hitting percentage.
Rutherford contributed 221 kills this season, averaging 2.57 per set, and achieved a .325 hitting percentage, also adding 46 total blocks. Despite splitting time on the court with teammate Devin Kahahawai, she maintained consistent performance. Freshman Ayden Ames has made history as the first true freshman middle blocker for the Longhorns to start since 2013, showcasing her talent with 51 total blocks and 92 kills at a .375 hitting percentage.
The Longhorns are now looking forward to the NCAA Selection Show, taking place this Sunday at 5 p.m. CT on ESPN, which will determine their postseason seeding.
