AUSTIN, Texas – The No. 14 Texas Volleyball team celebrated significant recognition as Madisen Skinner and Marianna Singletary earned spots on the All-SEC First Team, leading a total of four Longhorns honored in the All-SEC selections announced on Sunday.
Joining Skinner and Singletary, Reagan Rutherford was named to the All-SEC Second Team while Ayden Ames received a spot on the All-Freshman Team.
Madisen Skinner is having a standout season, averaging 4.14 kills per set with a hitting percentage of .274, alongside contributions of 140 digs and 48 total blocks. Notably, she has elevated her performance in recent matches, averaging an impressive 5.94 kills per set and hitting an outstanding .439 over the last five games.
Marianna Singletary has been a force on defense, ranking in a tie for the SEC lead with 1.47 blocks per set, and demonstrating her prowess earnestly as she received Defensive Player of the Week honors for three consecutive weeks earlier this season. Her stats include 128 total blocks and a striking .356 hitting percentage with 162 kills.
Reagan Rutherford has shown commendable versatility, accumulating 221 kills at an average of 2.57 per set with a solid hitting percentage of .325, coupled with 46 total blocks. She has balanced her play well despite sharing time on the court with Devin Kahahawai.
Freshman Ayden Ames has made a notable impact as the Longhorns’ first true freshman middle blocker to start since 2013. She boasts 51 total blocks and 92 kills, maintaining a remarkable hitting percentage of .375.
As the Longhorns gear up for NCAA postseason action, they will discover their tournament seeding during the NCAA Selection Show, set to air Sunday at 5 p.m. CT on ESPN.
