As the excitement builds for the upcoming baseball season, Texas Tech’s sophomore infielder has earned recognition as a Third Team All-America selection by Perfect Game Baseball. Hailing from Coppell, Pompey had a stellar freshman year in 2024, where he showcased his skills as a two-time Freshman All-American and a Big 12 All-Freshman selection. He recorded an impressive batting average of .279, hitting 10 home runs and driving in 49 RBIs, along with 12 stolen bases, 11 doubles, and a pair of triples, culminating in a strong OPS of .905.

Pompey was a key contributor for the Red Raiders, finishing fourth in home runs, third in RBIs, and sixth in runs scored on the team. His performance placed him among the top-20 in the Big 12 for several offensive categories, including RBIs, triples, and stolen bases.

Looking ahead, Pompey and the Red Raiders are set to kick off their 2024 season against No. 19 North Carolina on February 14, with the first pitch scheduled for 3 p.m. (CT) at UNC’s Boshamer Stadium.
