The Texas Longhorns are bolstering their offensive line once again with a significant new addition from the transfer portal. The team has secured a commitment from Melvin Siani, an offensive lineman previously with Wake Forest. Reports from Hayes Fawcett of On3 indicate that Siani has already signed with Texas, following a standout season in which he allowed only nine pressures and no sacks over 858 snaps at left tackle.

Siani entered the transfer portal just hours before his commitment, indicating a ‘do not contact’ status, which allowed the Longhorns to act swiftly to secure his addition. Prior to his time at Wake Forest, Siani started his college career at Temple, where he played in 15 games and made nine starts during the 2023 and 2024 seasons.

Siani is the latest member of a growing Texas portal class that already includes notable names such as Auburn wide receiver Cam Coleman, NC State running back Hollywood Smothers, and LSU lineman Zion Williams. The Longhorns have also reinforced their special teams unit with new additions including Memphis kicker Gianni Spetic and Florida State punter Mac Chiumento, among others.

While the addition of Siani enhances the Longhorns’ offensive line depth, eyes remain on Colorado offensive tackle Jordan Seaton, who is regarded as the top talent still available in the transfer market. Texas still has a visit scheduled with Seaton in Austin, and the team is working to secure his commitment before other teams, like Oregon, potentially vie for his services.

Siani’s arrival is a positive step for Texas, especially as it continues to build a formidable roster. With the retention of key offensive linemen like Trevor Goosby and Connor Robertson, alongside the loss of Nick Brooks, the depth of the offensive line looks promising. Regardless of the outcome with Seaton, the Longhorns can take confidence in their strengthened offensive line with the addition of Siani and others from the transfer portal.
