Texas A&M Baseball: New Era Kicks Off with Houston Showdown

The Texas A&M baseball team wraps up its fall exhibition schedule on Friday night, hosting Houston at Olsen Field at Blue Bell Park. The game is set to begin at 6 p.m. and will consist of 12 innings. Admission and parking are free, and concession stands will be available for attendees.

In their fall opener, the Aggies showcased their strength with a 20-2 victory over Houston Christian, utilizing 17 position players and 12 pitchers. Sophomore standout led the offense with a stellar performance, going 3-for-4 with a home run, a triple, and four RBIs. On the pitching side, the Texas A&M staff racked up 17 strikeouts, with contributing three strikeouts in a perfect inning.

This season marks the beginning of a new era for Texas A&M under head coach, whose guidance previously helped the team make two trips to the College World Series as an assistant over the last three years. Coach has turned the Aggies into one of the nation’s most formidable offensive teams.

The Aggies bring back 22 players from last season’s roster, which advanced to the College World Series Finals. This group includes three All-Americans. In the offseason, the coaching staff has added an impressive lineup of newcomers, featuring seven athletes recognized on Baseball America’s top-100 transfers list, including Myles Patton, Wyatt Henseler, Gavin Kash, Connor “Bear” Harrison, Grant Cunningham, Jacob Galloway, and Jamal George.
