Texans Shine Despite Collins’ Hamstring Woes

Nico Collins had a standout performance in Sunday’s game against the Buffalo Bills, catching a 67-yard touchdown pass before leaving due to a hamstring injury. The Houston Texans wide receiver entered the sideline medical tent in the first half and subsequently went to the locker room for further assessment. Initially listed as questionable, Collins was ultimately ruled out by halftime.

Despite his absence, the Texans triumphed in a thrilling 23-20 match, clinching victory with a 59-yard field goal from Ka’imi Fairbairn as the clock expired.

Collins, who came into the game as the NFL’s leading receiver with 489 yards on 30 receptions, scored his third touchdown of the season, helping to extend Houston’s lead to 14-3 late in the first quarter. Overall, he recorded two catches for 78 yards before leaving the field.

Collins had been a crucial element of the Texans’ offense, serving as quarterback C.J. Stroud’s top target during his Rookie of the Year campaign. He finished the previous season with impressive stats, including 80 catches for 1,297 yards and eight touchdowns. His injury represents a significant challenge for Houston, but the team still has a strong group of pass catchers, including four-time Pro Bowler Stefon Diggs and rising star Tank Dell, who has emerged as another top option for Stroud.
