Nico Collins will not participate in Week 10’s game despite being activated to the Houston Texans’ 53-man roster on Saturday. The wide receiver has been sidelined since he sustained a hamstring injury in Week 5. So far this season, Collins has made 32 catches for 567 yards and three touchdowns, boasting an impressive average of 113.4 yards per game, the highest in the league.
Fortunately for the Texans, receiver Tank Dell is set to play after being considered questionable due to a back issue, which limited his participation in Friday’s practice. The team will also miss several key players, including defensive end Will Anderson Jr., running back Dameon Pierce, linebacker Jamal Hill, cornerback Myles Bryant, and offensive lineman Zach Thomas, all of whom are inactive for this matchup.
On the Lions’ side, newly acquired defensive end Za’Darius Smith will also sit out this game, along with left tackle Taylor Decker, linebacker Malcolm Rodriguez, safety Loren Strickland, offensive lineman Colby Sorsdal, guard Christian Mahogany, and offensive tackle Giovani Manu.
Although Collins’ absence is a setback for the Texans, the activation of Tank Dell provides a glimmer of hope for the team’s receiving unit. As the season progresses, both teams will look forward to the return of their injured players, which could strengthen their performances in the coming weeks.
