Tennessee football is actively seeking a new starting quarterback for the 2026 season as Joey Aguilar has reached his eligibility limit. With uncertainty surrounding Aguilar’s efforts to obtain an extra year of eligibility, the Vols recently welcomed Arizona State transfer quarterback Sam Leavitt to their campus, suggesting they are looking to solidify their quarterback position for the future.

Adding to the excitement, reports indicate that Tennessee is preparing to host former Missouri quarterback Beau Pribula for a visit. Pribula had a promising season with the Tigers, where he served as the starting quarterback in ten games. He achieved 1,914 passing yards, 11 touchdowns, and nine interceptions, while also contributing significantly on the ground with 297 rushing yards and six touchdowns.

Before his tenure at Missouri, Pribula played at Penn State under head coach James Franklin, though he did not have an extensive role, accumulating 424 passing yards, nine touchdowns, and just one interception during the 2023-24 season. Having redshirted in 2022, Pribula enters this next chapter of his career with one final year of eligibility remaining, making him an attractive option for the Vols, who are looking for a transitional quarterback before potentially handing the reins to George MacIntyre or Faizon Brandon.

Tennessee will face competition for Pribula’s commitment, with schools like Washington and Georgia Tech in pursuit. Meanwhile, if the Vols decide to pursue Leavitt instead, they will need to consider the higher costs associated with recruiting him, especially as he visits Miami and has interest from Oregon as well.

This ongoing recruitment underscores Tennessee’s commitment to building a strong football program and ensuring they have the right leadership under center moving forward. With the right addition, the Vols could be poised for a successful season ahead.
