The Tennessee Titans have signed three-time Pro Bowl safety Jamal Adams, who was released by the Seattle Seahawks this offseason. Adams, 28, was the sixth overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft by the New York Jets and earned All-Pro honors in 2019.

Adams was traded to the Seahawks three years after being drafted, with Seattle investing heavily by sending two first-round picks to the Jets before the 2020 season. The Seahawks then signed Adams to a four-year contract worth up to $70 million after his first season with the team. However, injuries have plagued Adams, including a torn quadriceps tendon suffered in the 2022 season opener, which significantly impacted his play.

Released by the Seahawks in March, Adams joins a Titans team looking to bolster its secondary. The move follows General Manager Ran Carthon’s effort to enhance the defensive backfield with the additions of cornerbacks L’Jarius Sneed via trade and Chidobe Awuzie through free agency.

Adams will have the opportunity to reunite with Titans defensive coordinator Dennard Wilson, who was his defensive backs coach during his time with the Jets.
