Tennessee wide receiver Chris Brazzell is facing legal trouble after being charged with driving on a suspended license following a traffic stop last Friday. As per court documents, Knoxville police stopped Brazzell’s Dodge Charger around 9 p.m. for excessive speeding—traveling at 60 mph in a 35 mph zone—and quickly accelerating from a traffic light.
During the stop, Brazzell presented officers with a U.S. Passport but did not have his driver’s license on hand. Further investigation revealed that his license was suspended due to a failure to appear in Blount County court on August 15, 2024. The police noted that Brazzell has a history of not attending court sessions, which led to his arrest.
Brazzell is scheduled to appear in court on August 20. The University of Tennessee has acknowledged the incident but refrained from providing additional comments.
Last season, Brazzell made an impact on the field, participating in all 13 games and recording 29 receptions for 333 yards along with two touchdowns. This incident raises concerns about the athlete’s off-field choices, but with the right support and guidance, he can work towards making better decisions in the future and focusing on his football career.
This situation serves as a reminder of the importance of adhering to legal responsibilities, especially for public figures.
