The inaugural Televerse Festival, organized by the Television Academy, is set to take place from August 14-16 at the JW Marriott at L.A. LIVE. This exciting event will feature an array of programs, including master classes led by Emmy-winning actor Henry Winkler and Emmy-nominated writer/producer Beau Willimon, as well as a special 20th anniversary reunion of the cast and creators of the beloved series Bones.
Master classes will include a live acting workshop with Winkler, where he will share insights on performance and audience connection. The Bones panel will see creator Hart Hanson and main cast members Emily Deschanel, David Boreanaz, T.J. Thyne, and Tamara Taylor look back on the show’s impact over its 12-season run. They will discuss various themes that the show tackled, such as the intersection of science and faith, and its enduring appeal to fans even two decades later.
Additionally, Beau Willimon will provide an inside look into the writers room with a practical demonstration of story-breaking. The festival will also feature a sneak preview of the upcoming limited series Devil in Disguise: John Wayne Gacy, which charts the chilling narrative of Gacy’s life intertwined with the stories of his victims.
Among other highlights, there will be a panel featuring the broadcasting team of the Los Angeles Dodgers, offering fans a glimpse into the live sports television process, showcasing how they create engaging broadcasts during the intense 162-game season.
To conclude the festival, the Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony will honor six television icons, including Henry Winkler, Viola Davis, Ryan Murphy, Conan O’Brien, Mike Post and the late Don Mischer, recognizing their profound contributions to the television industry.
