Telemundo Studios and Brazil’s Globo have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate on the development and co-production of premium scripted content aimed at audiences in both the U.S. and Brazil. This partnership highlights the companies’ commitment to enhancing their storytelling reaches in global markets.
The MoU outlines plans for original films and series to be launched as Globoplay Originals in Brazil and showcased on Telemundo’s streaming and broadcast platforms in the U.S. While specific titles and formats are yet to be determined, the emphasis will be on generating high-value intellectual property with broad international appeal.
Javier Pons, Chief Content Officer at Telemundo Studios, expressed that this partnership is a significant milestone in strengthening the creative connection between Brazil and the broader Hispanic community. He emphasized the companies’ shared expertise in producing content that resonates on a global scale, setting the stage for high-quality scripted projects.
Globo has previously collaborated on Spanish-language adaptations of popular telenovelas, such as “Vale Tudo,” “O Clone,” and “Fina Estampa,” as well as co-productions like “Amores Roubados.” Manuel Belmar from Globo articulated that this collaboration is a testament to their investment in creating captivating scripted content, leveraging the combined strengths of both entities to resonate not just in Latin America but also extend their reach internationally.
