A disturbing incident occurred on Sunday evening in Sippy Downs, Queensland, where a five-month-old baby girl, Pixie, was the unintended victim of a reckless prank. Her mother, Tiffani Teasdale, recounted that while they were stopped at a traffic light on High Street around 7:45 PM, two teenagers riding e-bikes approached their car. Without warning, they sprayed a fire extinguisher through the rear window, filling the vehicle with chemical powder before fleeing the scene.
The experience was traumatic for Pixie and her family. Teasdale described her baby’s screams in the hospital as “the most horrible” she had ever heard. Upon their arrival at the hospital, Pixie received treatment, which included saline to clear her eyes of the harmful chemical. Though she was released early the following morning, Pixie exhibited concerning symptoms, including red rashes and wheezing.
The prank not only affected Pixie’s health but also resulted in significant damage to the interior of the family car and destruction of her pram, toys, and nappy bag. In a show of community support, a local car detailing business, Grime Busters, has offered to clean the car free of charge, highlighting the caring spirit within the community.
Teasdale voiced her frustration at the thoughtless actions of the offenders, emphasizing the unpredictability of who might be affected by such irresponsible behavior. She urged the teenagers to “grow up” and take accountability for their actions. Queensland Police are currently investigating the incident and are seeking information from the public, encouraging anyone who witnessed the event or has relevant footage to come forward.
This incident serves as a stark reminder of the potential consequences of reckless behavior in public spaces. The community’s response and support indicate a collective desire to prevent such attacks from occurring again and to ensure the safety of all residents.
