Taylor Swift’s involvement in Sydney Sweeney’s latest film, “The Housemaid,” has sparked excitement, particularly due to her song “I Did Something Bad” being featured as the movie’s ending theme. Director Paul Feig discussed this surprising turn of events during a recent interview at the film’s Hollywood premiere. The filmmaker, who is known for creating engaging and noteworthy films, noted that the decision to use Swift’s track was not something he anticipated.

Feig explained the process of securing approval for the song, expressing skepticism that Swift would agree to its use. “You want to put a Taylor song in your movie, but she and her company have to approve it,” he remarked. Despite initial doubts, after screening the film for Swift and her team, they received the green light. “It’s so perfect, but she’s never gonna clear this… And she approved it. So, I guess she likes it. Thank you, Taylor!” Feig noted, highlighting how significant this approval was, considering Swift’s careful oversight of her music’s usage.

Both Sweeney and her co-star Amanda Seyfried emphasized the importance of the song’s inclusion. Sweeney remarked, “It’s so perfect,” and the duo expressed their strong desire to retain the song in the final cut, stating, “We can’t lose this!”

Swift’s music has become a sought-after choice for films, having been featured in various prominent projects like “The Hunger Games” and “Fifty Shades Darker.” However, her work in the industry has not been without complications. Recently, she found herself briefly embroiled in legal drama linked to the film “It Ends with Us,” where her song “My Tears Ricochet” was included in the soundtrack. The legal turmoil arose when director Justin Baldoni attempted to implicate Swift in a lawsuit initiated by Blake Lively, despite her limited involvement. Swift’s representative swiftly clarified that she wasn’t involved in any casting or creative decisions for the movie.

On a positive note, “The Housemaid” is making waves at the box office, having earned a strong $19 million during its opening weekend across 3,015 theaters. The film, based on Freida McFadden’s novel, has resonated with audiences, further solidifying Taylor Swift’s artistic contributions to the cinematic world. As both the film and Swift’s music continue to gain acclaim, it appears there is much to celebrate in the realm of entertainment.
