Employees at the Hillsborough County Aviation Authority, which oversees Tampa International Airport, have been busy with fundraising efforts to ensure local children have a memorable holiday season. Initiatives included the popular Airport Chili Cook-Off, leading up to an impressive shopping spree where staff purchased over 4,000 toys at a Wesley Chapel Target in just one morning.

In addition to the employees’ efforts, Sheltair partnered with Vick Tipnes of Tipnes Media Productions for a charity event that successfully raised more than 12,000 toys. Signature Flight Support also made a generous contribution, providing a $25,000 donation along with 50 bicycles. Other local partners, including Manhattan Construction, Kimmins Contracting Corp., and several more, organized their own events to further enhance the toy collection efforts.

The collected toys were delivered to Tampa International Airport’s Main Terminal, where the Marine Corps Reserve arrived to load three truckloads filled with toys. These will soon be distributed to children in the community, spreading joy and kindness during this festive season.

This heartwarming initiative showcases not only the spirit of community but emphasizes how collaborative efforts can make a significant impact on those in need. With the holiday season often being a difficult time for many families, the generous contributions from the airport employees and their partners highlight the positive change that can come from collective goodwill.
