Employees of the Hillsborough County Aviation Authority, which operates Tampa International Airport, have engaged in a spirited fundraising effort, culminating in the purchase of thousands of toys for local children. The initiative kicked off with various employee fundraisers, notably the Airport’s annual Chili Cook-Off, followed by a shopping spree where TPA staff purchased over 4,000 toys in a single morning at the Target in Wesley Chapel.
In a generous show of support, Sheltair collaborated with Vick Tipnes of Tipnes Media Productions to host a charity event that contributed more than 12,000 toys to the cause. Additionally, Signature Flight Support stepped up with a remarkable donation, providing a $25,000 check along with 50 bicycles. Other partners, including Manhattan Construction, Kimmins Contracting Corp., Airborne Maintenance & Engineering Services, Hensel Phelps, DPR Construction, Suffolk, and Beck, also coordinated their own fundraising efforts, collectively bolstering the toy collection drive.
The donated toys were collected at the Main Terminal of Tampa International Airport, where the Marine Corps Reserve arrived to load three truckloads for distribution to local children in need.
This heartwarming initiative showcases the spirit of community and collaboration, demonstrating how collective effort can bring joy during the festive season. The generosity displayed by employees and partners alike highlights the impact of teamwork in making a significant difference in the lives of local children. As these toys make their way to deserving recipients, they will surely brighten many faces this holiday season.
