TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – A Cold Weather Advisory has been issued for the early hours of Monday as wind chills are expected to drop into the low and mid-20s.
The weekend will wrap up with a return of winter conditions, with clear skies allowing temperatures to fall overnight into the low and mid-30s. A persistent, breezy wind will accompany these cooler temperatures, resulting in wind chill factors that could make it feel even colder by Monday morning. The advisory will be in effect from 5 a.m. to 9 a.m., so residents are encouraged to bundle up when heading outside.
Monday brings more chilly weather, with daytime temperatures only reaching the upper-40s to low-50s, also under a sunny sky. Winds may gust up to 25 mph throughout the day. As Monday night approaches, the winds are expected to diminish, but the clear skies will cause temperatures to plummet further, potentially dropping into the mid- and upper-20s by Tuesday morning. It’s important to take precautions to protect people, pets, and plants from the cold.
Fortunately, this cold snap appears to be brief, with a warming trend anticipated later in the week. Tuesday will remain dry and mostly sunny, with highs expected to rise into the upper-50s and lows in the low to mid-30s.
As Wednesday approaches, clouds will begin to increase, yet dry conditions are expected to persist, with highs reaching the upper-60s to low-70s. Nighttime temperatures are projected to settle in the mid-50s.
Looking ahead to the latter part of the week, a weather system is expected to move in. Isolated showers may be possible Thursday afternoon, although widespread rain isn’t anticipated. Highs for Thursday will likely be in the low to mid-70s, while nighttime temperatures are expected to fall to the upper-50s.
Friday could see scattered showers under partly sunny conditions, with temperatures hovering in the low-70s and lows dropping into the low-50s.
