Taivoce: Nasinu Festival contestant sparks youth empowerment

Miss Makoi Asupa Balemaihawai Taivoce is taking part in the Nasinu Festival this year to champion youth empowerment. Reflecting on her experience coordinating the festival last year, Taivoce felt inspired to become a contestant this time around. She expresses a deep sense of pride in representing her community, where she was born and raised, and sees it as an opportunity to advocate for the vibrant town of Nasinu, her beloved home.

At 24 years old, Taivoce is enthusiastic about highlighting issues that affect the youth and is determined to make a meaningful impact through her participation. Understanding the challenges ahead, she acknowledges that preparing for the event might be daunting, but with the encouragement and camaraderie of her fellow contestants, she stays motivated and focused.

The Nasinu Festival is seen not only as a celebration of beauty and culture but also as a platform for contestants to promote important causes. Much like Vinaina Marawa’s past efforts during the festival to raise awareness about domestic violence, Taivoce seeks to use her platform to bring attention to empowering young people, helping them to become active and engaged members of their communities.

Participation in such events provides contestants with valuable opportunities to connect with others, build supportive networks, and work towards societal change. By advocating for youth empowerment, Taivoce joins a legacy of festival participants who strive to make significant contributions to their communities. With a hopeful outlook, Taivoce’s efforts are a reminder of the power of youth and the potential they hold to shape the future positively.
