The Tailevu Provincial Council has addressed the recent resignation of Manoa Kamikamica from his governmental roles, following charges brought against him by the Fiji Independent Commission Against Corruption (FICAC). Council Chair Semi Matalau made it clear that, while chiefs and traditional leaders may voice personal opinions regarding Kamikamica, the council itself maintains a neutral position. Matalau said, “As chair, I am not concerned because we should let the law take its course and respect the decision made by the government,” highlighting the council’s commitment to the rule of law amidst current political challenges.
