National Taco Day is now celebrated on the first Tuesday of October, starting this year on October 1. This change aligns the holiday with Taco Tuesday, resulting from Taco John’s giving up its trademark of “Taco Tuesday” amid ownership disputes. Taco Bell had already initiated an online petition to make the term available to all.

Marlo Anderson, founder of the National Day Calendar, expressed excitement about this change, stating it creates “the Taco Tuesday of all Taco Tuesdays.” Various taco deals are available on both National Taco Day and throughout the month.

Taco Bell is hosting hourly $1 taco promotions on October 1, with a variety of tacos available for members of Taco Bell Rewards. Starting at 1 p.m. ET, the deals will feature different tacos every hour until 10 p.m. ET, with a total of 10,000 deals up for grabs.

In addition to the main event on October 1, Taco Bell will have special promotions throughout the month, including chances for rewards members to win exclusive prizes.

Taco John’s is also participating by offering a free Beef Stuffed Grilled Taco to loyalty program members with any purchase on October 1. They will extend special offers every Wednesday in October.

Numerous other restaurants are joining in the celebration with their own National Taco Day deals. Abuelo’s is offering a $1 taco with any entrée purchase, while Baja Fresh provides a buy-one-get-one-free taco deal. Broken Yolk Cafe will have a buy-one-get-one-half-off promotion on breakfast tacos on October 4.

Multiple chains, such as Chuy’s, Cold Stone Creamery, El Pollo Loco, and others, are also featuring special offers ranging from discounted tacos to rewards for loyalty members.

As this diverse array of taco deals rolls out, taco lovers are sure to find something to celebrate this month.
