FARGO — Exciting news for taco enthusiasts in the Fargo area: Taco John’s is set to make a comeback in the local restaurant scene. The new outlet will open its doors Monday, January 5, at 4522 26th Ave. S., pending final preparations.
Brett Itterman, CEO of Pentex Restaurant Group—the largest Taco John’s franchisee in the nation—has announced the plans to reintroduce the beloved chain to the Fargo-Moorhead market. Notably, this will be Pentex’s first venture in the region, despite having its headquarters located in Fargo.
Taco John’s is well-known for its tacos and signature Potato Oles, appealing to many local residents. In an interview back in October, Itterman expressed ambitions to expand the brand’s presence by opening a total of three Taco John’s locations in the Fargo area over the next two years, with potential for additional locations thereafter.
While Pentex holds franchise rights for the entire Fargo-Moorhead metro, current plans center on focusing on Fargo and West Fargo. Outside this area, the nearest Taco John’s restaurants are situated in Grand Forks, North Dakota, and Brainerd, Minnesota.
The new Taco John’s in Fargo will take over a space that previously housed another Taco John’s franchise, which closed earlier this year. This closure was part of a broader trend affecting several Taco John’s locations in the Fargo-Moorhead area, leaving fans of the chain searching for alternatives.
In preparation for the grand opening, Itterman mentioned that the new location is looking to hire between 50 and 60 employees. Interested candidates can apply directly at the upcoming site. Additionally, a notable enhancement at this new Taco John’s will be the introduction of a second drive-thru lane, aimed at improving service speed and customer satisfaction.
With the return of Taco John’s, residents can look forward to enjoying their favorite menu items once again, making it a welcomed addition to the local dining landscape.
