National Taco Day brings a fresh twist to “Taco Tuesday,” as it falls on Tuesday, October 1. Taco Bell has made this change after launching an online petition earlier this year to eliminate the trademarked term “Taco Tuesday,” which had been owned by Wyoming-based Taco John’s for over 30 years. Previously, National Taco Day was celebrated on October 4 each year.
The taco, a dish that originated in Mexico, has countless variations, featuring both crunchy and soft shells filled with savory ingredients.
To mark the occasion, several restaurants are offering exciting deals in 2024:
Taco Bell is giving rewards members the chance to snag $1 tacos for ten hours, with a different type of taco available each hour. This $1 taco promotion will continue every Tuesday throughout October in honor of National Taco Day. The schedule includes:
10 a.m. – Crunchy Taco (10,000 available)
11 a.m. – Double Stacked Taco (10,000 available)
Noon – Chalupa Supreme (10,000 available)
1 p.m. – Nacho Cheese Doritos® Locos Tacos (10,000 available)
2 p.m. – Cantina Chicken Crispy Taco (10,000 available)

Chuy’s is also celebrating National Taco Day not once, but twice this year on October 1 and October 4, offering a ground beef taco—crispy or soft—as an add-on to any dine-in entree for just $1.
Taco Cabana has rolled out several deals with no limits and no coupons required, including $1 bean and cheese tacos, $2 ground beef tacos, and $2 shredded chicken tacos.
At El Pollo Loco, Loco Rewards members can enjoy any three fire-grilled chicken tacos for just $5 at restaurants or through the app and website from October 1 to October 4.
Lastly, Long John Silver’s is offering two fish tacos for $5 at participating locations for a limited time.
