Taco Bell is set to launch a new item on its menu this week: chicken nuggets. The popular fast-food chain acknowledges the deep loyalty consumers have towards chicken nuggets from competitors like McDonald’s, Wendy’s, and Chick-Fil-A. In earlier comments, Liz Matthews, Taco Bell’s global chief food innovation officer, noted the growing demand for more chicken options among fans.

Starting December 19 and available while supplies last, Taco Bell aims to meet this demand with its own unique chicken nuggets. According to the chain, these nuggets will be marinated in zesty jalapeño buttermilk and breaded with a distinctive mixture of breadcrumbs and crunchy tortilla chips.

To complement the nuggets, Taco Bell is offering a trio of dipping sauces: jalapeño honey mustard, a spicy ranch sauce created in partnership with Hidden Valley, and the chain’s own new signature “Bell sauce.”

The new chicken nugget meals will feature options ranging from 5-piece for $3.99 to 10-piece for $6.99, both served with one sauce. Combo meals that include nacho fries and a drink will be priced at $5.99 and $8.99 for the 5-piece and 10-piece sizes, respectively. A complete meal option—consisting of five chicken nuggets, a sauce, a crunchy taco, a beef chalupa, nacho fries, and a drink—will be offered at $10.49.

Previously, Taco Bell conducted taste tests of the chicken nuggets in Minneapolis and Houston, and this limited-time offering will be available across the nation while supplies last.

In a fast food landscape where chicken nuggets have a loyal following, Taco Bell’s new menu addition could bring excitement to customers and potentially usher in a new era of delicious choices. This move not only complements their existing offerings but also showcases Taco Bell’s commitment to evolving its menu to cater to fan preferences.
