Earlier this week, an accidental promotion on the Nintendo Switch 2 had some gamers excited as Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition was listed at a striking 75% discount, slashing the price from $69.99 to just $17.49. Fans quickly speculated that it was a mistake, and their concerns were validated when CD Projekt Red confirmed that this price was indeed incorrect, along with the discount on The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Complete Edition.

In a cheerful turn of events, CD Projekt Red announced that customers who managed to buy the games at the erroneous low prices could retain their purchases. In a public notice, the company elaborated on the situation: “The discounts for Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Complete Edition displayed on Nintendo Switch 2 eShop in the Americas on December 22, 2025 were incorrect. The situation is a result of an error we made when submitting the discount. We have corrected the error and new discounts have now been applied. Purchases made at the previous discount rate are unaffected by this change.”

Following the miscommunication, updated prices have now been set. Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition is available for $39.99, reflecting a 42% discount off its original price, while The Witcher 3: Complete Edition is now priced at $14.99, showcasing a generous 75% off from its standard rate of $59.99.

The Ultimate Edition of Cyberpunk 2077 includes the base game along with the DLC expansion Phantom Liberty, while the Complete Edition of The Witcher 3 encompasses the base story along with both expansions, making these titles substantial offerings for players looking to dive deep into either captivating universe.

This situation, while initially confusing, serves as a reminder of the festive spirit in gaming, where surprises occasionally enhance the experience for fans.
