Suzuki’s Stellar Season Sparks Cubs’ All-Star Hopes

As the 2025 MLB season heads toward the eagerly awaited Midsummer Classic, Chicago Cubs’ designated hitter Seiya Suzuki is making a strong bid for a spot on the National League All-Star roster. His performance this season has been nothing short of remarkable, putting him in contention alongside fellow Cubs stars Kyle Tucker and Pete Crow-Armstrong, who were recently announced as All-Star starters.

During the season, Suzuki has shattered his personal best with 24 home runs and tied his career high with 74 RBIs, leading the NL in RBIs and matching the MLB lead alongside Seattle Mariners’ Cal Raleigh. Recent games show Suzuki’s impressive form; over the last week, he is hitting .321 with five extra-base hits, including three home runs and seven RBIs, showcasing an outstanding OPS of 1.117.

Cubs players Tucker and Crow-Armstrong have sung Suzuki’s praises, with Tucker, a four-time All-Star himself, emphasizing Suzuki’s impact, stating, “He’s done a phenomenal job for us. He’s one of the best hitters around the league.” Crow-Armstrong echoed this sentiment, pointing out Suzuki’s impressive production in the lineup and expressing confidence in his All-Star candidacy.

The Cubs’ dynamic duo has frequently synchronized their power, as evidenced by their joint homers in the recent record-setting 11-3 defeat of the St. Louis Cardinals. This season, they have homered together in the same game six times, contributing to the Cubs’ reputation as one of the league’s most formidable offenses.

Manager Craig Counsell weighed in on Suzuki’s All-Star worthiness, stating unequivocally, “I think he’s super deserving… Seiya’s having an All-Star year. There’s no question about it.”

Despite the accolades, Suzuki humbly attributes his success to his teammates, highlighting the importance of being in situations to drive in runs, saying, “They have to be on base for me to get in those situations… I’m very thankful for all my teammates.”

By continuing this remarkable performance, Suzuki can not only solidify his All-Star status but also help propel the Cubs toward a successful season. His teamwork and dedication highlight the collaborative spirit essential in baseball, offering a bright outlook for the remainder of the MLB season.
