A woman in her 30s is set to appear in the Suva Magistrates Court today following her arrest during a significant joint police operation in Delainavesi. The arrest took place last week as part of a coordinated raid conducted by officers from the Serious Organised Crime and Intelligence Department, the Southern Division Taskforce, and the Fiji Detector Dog Unit.

Authorities reported that substances found in the suspect’s vehicle tested positive for methamphetamine. This isn’t the woman’s first encounter with the law; she has been previously charged with similar drug-related offences. Currently, she faces multiple charges, including one count of unlawful possession of illicit drugs, one count of possession of property believed to be the proceeds of crime, one count of possession of breaking implements, and one count of unlawful possession of explosives.

The charge concerning explosives arises from the discovery of a non-lethal device commonly utilized by defense forces to disorient targets. The investigation remains active, and the Fiji Police Force has confirmed that the accused will be formally presented in court today.

As authorities continue their efforts to combat drug-related crimes, this case highlights the ongoing challenges faced by law enforcement in maintaining community safety.
