Suva Futsal coach Vishal Nadan expressed confidence in his team’s ability to defend their title at the Extra Futsal Inter District Championship (IDC) this year, bolstered by the inclusion of several key national players. Nadan made the announcement following the renewal of their sponsorship deal with HLB Mann Judd, which will assist the team with preparation costs, crucial as they strive to maintain their position as champions.
The squad has returned in peak condition following their participation in the OFC Men’s Nations Cup held in Suva, with all players now injury-free. Nadan highlighted the fitness and synergy of players such as Nikhil Chand, Justin Kumar, Shivnal Prasad, Merrill Nand, Ramzan Khan, Filipe Baravilala, and Kitione Baleloa, who have been training intensively in preparation for the tournament. “It’s an advantage because they’ve been training in Futsal together for the past 2-3 months, and we expect them to lead the team into the tournament,” he stated.
However, the competition remains fierce, as Suva finds itself drawn into a challenging pool alongside Nasinu, Ba, and Labasa. Nadan recognizes that each match will be a test of their preparation and tactical strategy.
