Sutton Foster’s New Chapter: Divorce and a Romance with Hugh Jackman?

Sutton Foster has officially initiated divorce proceedings from her husband, screenwriter Ted Griffin, after nearly a decade of marriage. The 49-year-old “Younger” star filed for an uncontested divorce in New York County Supreme Court on Tuesday, as documented in court records.

This development follows reports that Foster is moving on with Hugh Jackman, famed for his role in “X-Men.” The two met while performing together in the Broadway show “The Music Man,” which ran from 2021 to 2023. Sources claim that Foster and Jackman are in a serious relationship and are committed to each other.

Foster and Griffin, 53, tied the knot in October 2014 and share an adopted daughter, Emily, who is 7 years old. The couple’s representatives have been contacted for comments.

Despite efforts to maintain discretion about their relationship, several sources indicated that Foster and Jackman’s romance is widely known within their circles.

Foster previously married actor and singer Christian Borle from 2006 to 2009, before her relationship with Griffin began. She got engaged to Griffin in August 2013, and they married in a private ceremony in Santa Barbara, California, the following year.

Griffin is known for writing screenplays for popular films such as “Ocean’s Eleven” and “Rumor Has It.” The couple celebrated the adoption of their daughter Emily in April 2017, a moment Foster described as life-changing during a Broadway performance.

In a 2021 essay, Foster opened up about her challenges with pregnancy and her journey toward adoption, reflecting on how pursuing adoption led to welcoming their daughter.

Meanwhile, Jackman, 56, recently ended his long-standing marriage to Deborra-Lee Furness, 68, in September 2023, after 27 years together. The couple emphasized their commitment to their two adopted children and their desire to continue growing individually following their separation.
