Actress Sutton Foster has initiated divorce proceedings from her husband of a decade, Ted Griffin, which has sparked intense speculation about a potential romance with “Wolverine” actor Hugh Jackman. Foster filed for an uncontested divorce on October 22, following the recent sale of their historic estate in New York for $2 million.

The “Younger” star, who starred alongside Jackman in the highly acclaimed Broadway production of “The Music Man,” purchased the property in Tuxedo Park, NY, for $1.6 million in 2021. After listing the seven-bedroom, five-bathroom home for $2.2 million in December 2023, the couple sold it in May 2024. Foster had previously described the home as “magical” and envisioned it as a place where her family could create lasting memories, saying it felt like a perfect setting for raising their daughter, Emily.

With her marriage now concluding, speculation arises about whether selling their marital home was a sign of their impending split, especially as the sale occurred around the same time rumors of her involvement with Jackman surfaced. These rumors intensified following Jackman’s separation from his wife, Deborra-Lee Furness, after 27 years of marriage.

Reports indicate that the chemistry between Foster and Jackman transitioned from the stage to real life during the run of “The Music Man,” which spanned from December 2021 to January 2023.

Prior to her role in the Broadway production, Foster sold another property—a Los Angeles A-frame home—for $1.5 million in October 2021. The interior of the Tuxedo Park estate had been designed in collaboration with designer Michael Ostrow, who is known for infusing vibrant colors and unique decor into spaces.

Built in 1895 by architect Bruce Price, the residence has historical significance, as it was home to Emily Post, the famed author known for her work on etiquette. In addition to her New York estate and the former Los Angeles property, Foster has owned a penthouse in Manhattan and a lake house in Greenwood Lake, NY, where she often sought refuge from the bustling city life.

The announcement of Foster’s divorce comes just over a year after Jackman’s marriage ended, with the actor and his former wife releasing a joint statement at the time expressing gratitude for their years together and acknowledging their separate paths ahead.

As speculation about a relationship between Foster and Jackman continues, neither actor has made public statements regarding the nature of their connection. However, sources suggest that the couple seeks to keep their relationship private while remaining committed to each other.
