Residents of eastern North Carolina have the chance to support local service members by participating in the “Bags for the Brave” initiative. In collaboration with Navy Federal Credit Union and the USO of North Carolina, along with News12, the community is encouraged to contribute by donating personal care items throughout the month of May.
Navy Federal Credit Union is accepting donations of new, travel-sized personal care items, including:
– Shaving cream
– Soap
– Toothbrush
– Toothpaste
– Lotion
– Talcum powder
– Washcloths
– Razors
– Hand sanitizer
– Shampoo
– Small, individually wrapped snacks
– Deodorant
– Lip balm
Once the items are collected, the USO of North Carolina will assemble them into care packages destined for deployed service members, ensuring they receive a touch of home while serving overseas.
Donations can be dropped off at various Navy Federal Credit Union locations throughout the area, making it easy for individuals to give back to those who serve. This initiative not only provides essential items but also fosters a sense of community support and appreciation for the sacrifices made by military personnel.
