Dylan Dreyer recently expressed her support for Today cohost Sheinelle Jones following the heartbreaking passing of Jones’ husband, Uche Ojeh, who died after a battle with an aggressive form of brain cancer. Dreyer, speaking to Access Hollywood, highlighted the challenges Jones faces as a mother of three young children during this difficult time. “She’s in mom mode right now… it’s a really tough time for the family,” Dreyer noted.

Ojeh’s passing was announced on May 23, leaving behind Jones, who is 47, and their three children: Kayin, 15, and twins Uche and Clara, 12. Dreyer reassured that the Today family is rallying around Jones to provide support, emphasizing the close-knit nature of their team. “We are all there to support her in any way we can… she’s being strong for them,” she added.

Jones, who has been absent from the Today show since December 2024 to focus on her family’s needs, has received an outpouring of love from her colleagues. Al Roker was noted for sending Dreyer a heartfelt handwritten letter, reflecting the supportive environment among the team members. Savannah Guthrie also shared her sorrow during the May 23 broadcast, stating, “There are no words for the pain we feel for Sheinelle and their three young children.”

Craig Melvin reminisced about the final memories shared with Ojeh, recounting their last golf game together and the profound love Ojeh had for his children. He commended Jones for her resilience in navigating the challenges of caring for her family after Ojeh’s death.

While no specific date for Jones’ return to the Today show has been announced, her colleagues remain committed to supporting her through this difficult time, showcasing a sense of community and compassion in the face of personal tragedy.
