Phoenix Suns fans hoping to see Kevin Durant of the Houston Rockets in action will have to wait a little longer, as he has been ruled out for Monday’s game due to a personal family matter. Reports from ESPN’s Shams Charania indicate that Durant will also miss Wednesday’s matchup against the Golden State Warriors.
Durant, who has played a pivotal role in Houston’s impressive 10-4 start to the season, has not missed any games so far. The Rockets currently hold fifth place in the Western Conference, just ahead of the Suns, who sit at 10-6. His contributions are significant, as he leads the team with an average of 24.6 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 3.3 assists per game, all while shooting 48.5% from the field.
The last time Durant played in Phoenix was on March 30, where he recorded 11 points, seven rebounds, and one assist, but the game ended in a disappointing loss for the Rockets. Notably, Durant was involved in a multi-team trade that saw the Suns acquire Jalen Green, Dillon Brooks, and a valuable first-round pick.
Looking ahead, after the Rockets’ upcoming road games on December 5 and January 5, Durant and the Rockets are not scheduled to return to Phoenix until April 7, which will be the fourth-to-last game of the regular season and marks the final matchup between the two teams this year. As the season progresses, fans are hopeful for a thrilling showdown when Durant finally returns to the court in Phoenix.
