The Connecticut Sun will be celebrating their upcoming game against the Indiana Fever at TD Garden by hosting several exciting community events in Boston. On July 13, 2025, the Sun will kick off the festivities with the second annual Youth Sports Festival, an event designed for kids aged 8-14. This festival will take place from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Reggie Lewis Center in Boston. Admission is free, although there is a cost for participating in the Sun Academy’s Power Hours.
Following the Youth Sports Festival, a watch party will be held from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Causeway. During this event, fans will have the opportunity to watch the Sun compete against the Los Angeles Sparks at 6:00 PM, enjoy a free halftime buffet, and engage with representatives from TOGETHXR and Watch With Us Boston.
The series of events will culminate on July 15 with a Block Party on Canal Street from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM. This event will feature live DJs, community awards, a merchandise pop-up shop, and more, allowing fans to gear up for the game with the Sun facing off against the Indiana Fever at 8:00 PM at TD Garden.
Last year’s game at TD Garden marked a historic moment as the Connecticut Sun played the first regular-season WNBA game in Boston, attracting a sold-out crowd of 19,156 fans. Jen Rizzotti, president of the Connecticut Sun, expressed excitement about returning to Boston and the opportunity to connect with fans through these events: “These events are all about celebrating the game of basketball, access, representation, and the incredible community that surrounds us.”
The Connecticut Sun continues to foster community engagement and provide a platform for the growth of women’s sports in the region, building on the excitement from last year’s successful season and aiming for even greater attendance and fan participation this time around.
This initiative highlights the team’s commitment to access and representation while promoting sports as a unifying force within the community.
