Police volleyball assistant coach Eparama Curubula emphasized that the defending champions are not resting on their laurels, despite having won the Sukuna Bowl title for eight consecutive years. “We are not counting the number of times we have won before; instead, we are focused on the battle ahead,” he stated as preparations intensify for the 2025 clash with the Army team.
Curubula noted that the Army has been steadily improving and will come into the competition eager to seize the title from Police. “We stand ready to give Army the game they are expecting – it will be nothing new for them,” he added, indicating a level of respect for their opponents while maintaining determination for the match.
Discipline within the team is paramount, according to Curubula. He made it clear that any player who strays from acceptable behavior, regardless of their standing within the team—including national representatives—will be sidelined, reflecting a strict adherence to rules and standards during training sessions.
He also took a moment to express gratitude towards the families of the players for their unwavering support as the Police prepare for another challenging and fiercely competitive Sukuna Bowl showdown. The tournament is set to take place from the 17th to the 21st of this month, and will include various other competitions, such as live broadcasts of men’s soccer and rugby matches on FBC Sports.
As excitement builds for the upcoming matches, both the Police and Army teams showcase not only their sporting skills but also the spirit of camaraderie and community. This longstanding rivalry, highlighted by rigorous preparations and mutual respect, promises an engaging event that fans will not want to miss.
