Streamer Duke Dennis was arrested in San Antonio over the weekend after being accused of trespassing at a local shopping mall. The 31-year-old was taken into custody on Saturday, August 2, and charged with criminal trespassing and evading arrest. He was released the following day after posting a cash bond of $1,000 for each charge.
Video footage shared on social media showed fellow streamer Kai Cenat present during the incident, capturing Dennis handcuffed and sitting on the floor of the mall. The San Antonio Police Department confirmed that the arrest was related to a game of hide and seek that Dennis was playing with another individual after the mall had closed. Authorities stated that Dennis refused to comply with multiple requests from security to leave and attempted to flee when police arrived. A second suspect allegedly tried to interfere with the arrest as well.
Duke Dennis is well-known for his content on platforms like YouTube and Twitch and is a member of the popular content group AMP (Any Means Possible), which also includes Cenat. AMP features a collective of streamers who collaborate on projects that leverage their respective fan bases, often resulting in engaging online gaming streams and viral challenges. Cenat, in particular, gained fame as part of AMP, and the group experienced significant recognition after their month-long streaming marathon in a Texas mansion in July.
While neither Dennis nor Cenat have provided an official comment on the arrest, Dennis did share an Instagram story shortly after his release, playfully stating that he was “officially on vacation” and seeking travel suggestions from fans.
This incident marks a challenging moment for both Dennis and the AMP group, but it also underscores the playful and sometimes chaotic nature of content creation and streaming culture. Fans can hope that this incident will serve as a valuable lesson for everyone involved.
