The fifth season, which began filming on January 8, 2024, was significantly impacted by the Hollywood writer and actor strikes in 2023, leading to a delayed production schedule. By July 3, series co-creator Ross Duffer proudly announced they reached the halfway point, achieving over 650 hours of footage that is comparable to “eight blockbuster movies.” The first four episodes will premiere on November 26, with the subsequent episodes becoming available on Christmas Day, culminating in a two-hour series finale that will screen in select theaters nationwide on New Year’s Eve.
