The weather forecast for the upcoming week indicates that conditions may be worse before they improve, with clouds remaining dominant and limited sunshine. Since mid-March, temperatures have been above normal, but this week, a nor’easter is expected to change that.
Throughout the week, northeast winds will persist, leading to cooler temperatures, especially along the coast where highs are likely to stay in the upper 50s. Some areas inland might reach the low 60s. Notably, Wednesday will see a slight drop in temperatures, with Thursday expected to be significantly cooler due to the approaching storm. While snow isn’t a primary concern, there may be some snowfall in the higher elevations of northern New England.
The storm is anticipated to bring conditions characterized by heavy rains and strong winds, with gusts potentially reaching 50 mph on Cape Cod and 40 mph in other coastal regions. Rainfall totals could range from an inch to as much as 2 inches in certain locales from late Wednesday night through Thursday.
After the storm passes, conditions are expected to gradually improve by the weekend. Although there may still be some lingering showers on Friday, the weather is projected to be much more favorable, particularly on Memorial Day, when temperatures could finally reach the 70-degree mark.
Despite the current gloomy forecast, there is hope for clearer skies and warmer temperatures ahead, encouraging residents to stay optimistic as spring fully sets in.
