Today brought warmer temperatures across the county, with many areas experiencing highs in the 70s and 80s. As February progresses, a change in weather is anticipated due to a series of storms that will introduce multiple chances for rain.

Starting Tuesday, expect cooler and cloudier conditions as a storm approaches from the north. While the day may remain largely dry with only a slight chance of sprinkles or stray showers, isolated shower activity could increase in the evening. This shift in weather will likely impact the Wednesday morning commute, bringing scattered rain and potentially causing slow travel.

The most significant chance of rain is forecasted for Wednesday morning, with light to moderate rainfall accumulations expected between 0.10 to 0.25 inches. Coastal and mountain regions might see up to half an inch, while the desert areas are predicted to receive little to no measurable precipitation.

Winds are set to pick up, particularly in the mountains and deserts, where gusts from the southwest and west could reach between 25 to 50 mph late Tuesday into Wednesday. The coast and valleys will feel lighter gusts, ranging from 15 to 25 mph.

Looking ahead, a second storm will move south of San Diego, providing only a slim chance for a few showers on Thursday. After this system, drier and sunnier conditions will return for Friday and Saturday. However, another significant storm could approach late Sunday into Monday, with the possibility of an additional storm mid to late next week.

Tuesday’s anticipated highs are as follows:

– Coast: 63-69°
– Inland: 68-73°
– Mountains: 56-69°
– Deserts: 80-82°
