Hard drives containing unreleased music by Beyoncé, along with other valuable items, were stolen from a rented car belonging to her choreographer during a recent concert stop in Atlanta. The incident occurred on July 8 while the vehicle was parked in a parking deck.
According to police reports, two suitcases belonging to choreographer Christopher Grant and backup dancer Diandre Blue were taken from a Jeep Wagoneer. Notably among the stolen items were two laptops and hard drives featuring watermarked and unreleased music, video footage, and current and future set lists.
The Atlanta Police Department’s Larceny from Auto Unit is leading the investigation and has already issued an arrest warrant for a suspect. In addition to the hard drives, Grant reported the theft of $1,000 worth of clothing, a pair of Tom Ford sunglasses valued at $500, and a $750 Tumi bag. Blue’s belongings included a MacBook Air and headphones.
Beyoncé’s tour will continue as she prepares for her fourth and final concert in Atlanta on July 10, with plans to head to Las Vegas for a performance on July 25.
This incident highlights the risks that artists and their teams face while on tour, but it also serves as a reminder of the importance of security measures for protecting valuable belongings. Fans are hopeful that the stolen items will be recovered soon, ensuring the integrity of Beyoncé’s artistic work remains intact.
